Changes to the EHF rates for the BC Paint Program and for the BC Smoke & CO Alarms Program

Dear Members,

Product Care Association (“Product Care”) is committed to providing compliant, efficient, and sustainable programs. We inform about upcoming changes to the Environmental Handling Fees (EHFs) rates for the British Columbia Paint and Smoke and CO Alarms programs.

BC Paint Fee Rate Changes

Effective July 1, 2024, the board has approved changes to the fee rates for the BC Paint program. This decision is a result of a thorough analysis and consideration of the program’s performance and other factors such as inflationary pressures, declining sales, and increased demands on the program.

The following fee changes have been approved to ensure the long-term sustainability of the program.
