Stepping into Product Care Recycling during its 30th-anniversary celebrations has been nothing short of fun. From day one, I’ve felt the energy, passion, and dedication that make this organization special. Celebrating such a significant milestone alongside my new colleagues has given me a unique glimpse into what makes Product Care stand out.
Vancouver office – Scavenger hunt
Starting out in Vancouver, I got to dive right into the spirit of teamwork and adventure with a scavenger hunt on Granville Island. We had multiple teams, and each came up with creative names like the Flower Rangers, Navy Savvy, and Green Eco-Warriors, and set off to explore the island. It was a great way to connect with my new colleagues, learn more about their personal talents, and see how much fun we could have together outside of the office.
Mario Anda, our Senior Program Manager in BC, summed up the spirit of our work with a message of gratitude for Product Care’s members:
“Thank you to our members for your support. Your partnership and commitment help us drive meaningful change and create a lasting impact.”
Toronto office – Golf outing
“The Ontario team is deeply proud of the work we do and our ability to serve our members and be part of 30 years of impactful recycling!”
— Holly Lafontaine, Director of Ontario Programs
Though I wasn’t in Toronto, hearing about their golf outing gave me a glimpse into how different offices find their own ways to celebrate and have fun. The team spent a day on the golf course to enjoy the fresh air and take time to connect. It’s clear to me that these kinds of events are more than just fun—they’re a chance to reinforce the bonds that make the Toronto team so effective!
Delta office – Bowling party
“These 30 years have been a long journey with a lot of positive changes to all aspects of Product Care. The operations team looks forward to the next 30 and continuing to build upon our successes.” — Brent Beusekom, Delta Plant
The Delta team’s bowling party is another example of how Product Care knows how to have a good time. Strikes, spares, and even a few gutter balls were the order of the day, followed by a well-deserved pizza feast. It’s easy to see that the relationships built here go far beyond the office walls.
Quebec office – iFly astronaut experience
Although I wasn’t at the Quebec event, looking through their photos gave me a great sense of fun they had. The team took our 30th-anniversary celebrations to a new height at iFly Montreal, quite literally!
They got to experience the thrill of indoor skydiving and being astronauts in a wind tunnel. I could see the excitement on my colleagues’ faces in the pictures of them floating in the air. It looked like a perfect way to break away from the usual routine, letting loose and embracing the fun of flying.
After their adventure, they capped off the day with a wholesome meal together—capturing the kind of moments we enjoy across all our offices, where good food (and laughter) with colleagues are always the main motivators. Belgacem Kasmi, the Program Manager in Montreal, captured the essence of the day:
“I’m proud to be part of this organization, celebrating three decades of sustainability among dedicated members and colleagues.”
Looking ahead
Joining Product Care during this monumental year has been an incredible experience. I’ve had the chance to dive into our history, meet some amazing people, and feel like a true part of something special. I’m excited to see where this journey will take me and to be part of the next chapter in Product Care’s story.
